Furious

Furious is a dark psychological crime thriller television series created and executive produced by showrunner Elizabeth Meriwether for Hulu and Disney+. The eight-episode initial season stars Emmy Rossum as Alice Black, a former police officer turned FBI investigator tracking a deadly target across a complex web of high-stakes suspense.

The show follows Agent Black as she goes head-to-head with a ruthless serial killer, played by Lola Petticrew, who targets influential men connected to a massive ring of abuse. Loosely inspired by the 1987 cinematic thriller Black Widow, the drama's creative team conducted direct interviews with human trafficking survivors to inform its dark story arc. The cast also features Steve Way as Alden, who engages in a romantic storyline with a mysterious figure named Catherine.

The series premiered in late July 2026 and initially drew quiet viewership numbers before gaining intense traction on social media. Driven by online word-of-mouth, it emerged as a viral sleeper hit. Ahead of its Season 1 finale, titled Hart Island, platform executives officially locked in a second season renewal on August 28, 2026.
