Editorial policy
BUZZBEAT covers celebrity, music, television, film, reality and internet culture. This is how our stories are made.
What we cover
We report on showbiz: the people, the projects and the moments that shape popular culture. We do not cover politics, business or sport for their own sake, and we cover crime only when it is central to a pop culture story.
How stories are written
Every story is written by the BUZZBEAT newsroom in our own words. We check facts against multiple accounts before publishing, we do not republish other people's text, and we do not publish claims we cannot stand behind. Named reporters carry the byline on each piece.
Updates
Fast-moving stories are updated as new facts arrive. Every article shows its publication time and, where it applies, the time it was last updated.
Photography
Photos are chosen for relevance to the story, described in plain language for screen readers and search engines, and served from our own infrastructure.
Independence
Advertising and sponsored content never influence our reporting. Paid material is labelled clearly and handled separately from the newsroom — see our advertising disclosure.
Artificial intelligence
We use software to help monitor the news cycle and to draft and structure copy. Every published story is produced under newsroom editorial control and our editors are accountable for what appears on the site.
