Steve Way Praises 'Furious' Creator Liz Meriwether For Portraying On-Screen Romance

Hulu’s latest mystery thriller *Furious* is keeping viewers on the edge of their seats, but it’s an unexpected love story that is stealing the spotlight. Actor Steve Way is opening up about his role in the series, praising creator Liz Meriwether for crafting a storyline that gives him the space to shine as a genuine romantic lead. In the new series, Way portrays Alden, a character who finds himself entangled with Catherine, a mysterious femme fatale figure. Rather than sidelining his character or framing his narrative around limitations, the show thrusts him directly into a compelling, romantic dynamic that feels fresh for the genre.

According to reports, Way commended Meriwether for allowing him to explore a totally different facet of his performance capabilities. The actor noted that the series presents a beautiful and healthy depiction of intimacy, straying far from the tired Hollywood clichés that often plague storylines featuring disabled performers. Way’s onscreen dynamic with Catherine delivers classic noir tension paired with modern representation. By placing a disabled actor at the heart of a romantic subplot in a high-profile streaming series, the show delivers something genuinely unique for mystery fans.
