Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune is a long-running syndicated television game show produced by Sony Pictures Television. The iconic series features puzzle-solving gameplay centered around a rotating wheel and is currently hosted by Ryan Seacrest, with Maggie Sajak serving as a correspondent for the show.

Heading into its 44th season, the program announced major updates to its traditional gameplay structure. Show leadership introduced a brand-new rapid-fire segment designed to give contestants a fast-paced shot at solving puzzles under heavy time constraints before the clock runs out, aiming to bring high-speed energy to the traditional wheel-spinning format.

The show recently experienced a major personnel shakeup involving longtime announcer Jim Thornton. Following allegations that he accessed an illicit online chatroom during a commercial flight, Sony Pictures Television suspended Thornton and launched an internal investigation. Shortly after police met his flight at LAX, Thornton was terminated and scrubbed from the program's official social media channels and promotional materials.
