The Cranberries Are Releasing A Long-Lost 1994 Live Concert Album

Nineties alt-rock nostalgia is hitting a fresh peak as a long-lost performance tape from legendary Irish rock band The Cranberries is finally emerging from the music vaults. Devoted listeners of the band are getting a major throwback gift with the announcement of *The Cranberries: Live At The London Astoria II, 1994*, an archival album capturing the group at the exact threshold of international superstardom. The newly unearthed concert audio catches the late, brilliant frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan and her bandmates performing at London's famed Astoria II venue. Taking the stage shortly after returning from a triumphant tour in the United States, the group delivered a soaring, intimate set to a packed audience right before their second studio record altered rock history forever.

Music lovers will be able to get their hands on the unearthed tape very soon. Island/UMe is officially issuing the record on September 4 across multiple standard and deluxe physical pressings. Collectors can look forward to a limited-edition double LP on Molten Lava colored vinyl, traditional black vinyl, compact disc, and full digital streaming packages. Drummer Fergal Lawler opened up about the high energy in the room during that original 1994 show. He remembered how exhilarating it felt to return from America, take a short holiday pause over Christmas, and jump back onto a London stage to celebrate their huge overseas momentum with early UK supporters.

The fifteen-track performance serves as an incredible time capsule from a pivotal era in '90s pop culture. During the set, the Irish rockers road-tested nine upcoming songs from their landmark sophomore project *No Need To Argue*, months before that smash album debuted and introduced their mega-hit single "Zombie" to the world. In addition to those early previews, the classic set features stripped-back live renditions of fan-favorite tracks from their 1993 debut album *Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?*. Audio from the night includes electric live versions of timeless anthems like "Dreams", "Linger", and "Pretty", giving listeners a front-row seat to the band's iconic rise.
