Chris Rock Directs Sizzling TIFF Drama 'Misty Green' Starring Rosalind Eleazar

Hollywood stories about washed-up stars hitting rock bottom never go out of style, and Chris Rock is jumping headfirst into the dramatic genre. The comedy icon and filmmaker has taken the driver's seat for *Misty Green*, a brand-new showbiz drama that recently made waves during its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The project dives deep into the ruthless underbelly of the entertainment business, charting the chaotic spiral of a former top-tier talent. While Rock pulls the strings behind the camera to craft a gritty industry portrait, early buzz coming out of the TIFF screenings is centered firmly on the movie's leading lady, Rosalind Eleazar.

*Misty Green* centers on a once-celebrated actress who previously reached the absolute pinnacle of industry success. After taking home an Emmy Award, her public and professional life hits the skids, leaving her scraping the bottom of the Tinseltown barrel. Facing total career collapse, the fallen starlet is forced to navigate a brutal industry that has long moved past her. The narrative echoes classic down-on-your-luck Hollywood fables, leaning into the harsh reality of how fast the entertainment world turns its back on its former darlings. Rather than delivering his signature stand-up comedic style, Rock leans into a sizzling, dramatic portrait of ambition, survival, and fame's fleeting nature.

Critics note that her fierce, captivating portrayal keeps the storytelling grounded and intense throughout, proving that Rock's instincts as a director paid off when casting his complex heroine.
