Ben Wang Circling Iceman Role in Marvel’s Upcoming ‘X-Men’ Reboot
The rising star is reportedly negotiating to play Bobby Drake alongside a star-studded mutant ensemble.

Marvel Studios is rapidly locking down its next generation of mutants, and another foundational hero has entered the picture. Rising Hollywood talent Ben Wang is currently in discussions to take on the role of Bobby Drake, better known to comic book diehards as Iceman, in the studio's highly anticipated *X-Men* feature. Wang, who recently headlined upcoming projects like *Karate Kid: Legends* and *The Long Walk*, is poised to slide into one of Marvel's most famous superhero teams. If negotiations conclude successfully, he will portray the ice-manipulating hero who first debuted in print back in 1963 under the legendary creative duo of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Who Else Is Joining the New Mutant Lineup?
The emerging ensemble for the film is already packed with massive young talent. Wang would join an elite squad that includes Sadie Sink as telepathic powerhouse Jean Grey, Kit Connor as optic-blasting field leader Cyclops, and Asa Germann as the winged mutant Angel. With those four characters on board, only Beast remains unaccounted for among the original five comic book team members. Beyond the founding roster, industry reports indicate the production has secured formidable talent across the mutant universe. Maya Boyd is set to command the elements as Storm, Inde Navarrette steps in as the power-absorbing Rogue, and Samara Weaving is poised to channel diamond-skinned telepath Emma Frost.

Who Will Lead and Oppose the New X-Men?
Behind the classroom doors at the Xavier Institute, Christopher Abbott has been tapped to lead the team as Professor Charles Xavier, taking over the mantle of the telepathic visionary who started it all. On the opposing side, Adam Driver is attached to bring chilling menace to the screen as classic antagonist Mr. Sinister. With discussions underway for Wang to complete nearly the entire original lineup, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is signaling a clear direction for its mutant resurgence. Fans have waited years for Xavier's students to make their official MCU landing, and the roster taking shape suggests a dynamic, comic-faithful fresh start.
