Zoe Kazan

Zoe Kazan is an actor, writer, and television showrunner known for bringing major works of classic American literature to streaming television. She works as a key creative force on prestige drama adaptations, frequently collaborating with major streaming services on high-profile limited series and television shows.

Kazan adapted John Steinbeck's acclaimed 1952 novel East of Eden into a Netflix limited series, serving as writer and co-showrunner. Her adaptation explores the fallibilities of human nature, toxic rivalries, and buried secrets that destroy a family over generations. Starring Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, the long-awaited project was greenlit by the streamer nearly four years before its scheduled premiere date on October 1, 2026.

Building on her collaboration with Netflix, Kazan teamed up with writer Jeb Stuart to adapt Larry McMurtry's legendary Pulitzer-winning Western novel Lonesome Dove. Serving as co-showrunners on the project, the creative duo partnered with independent media outfit Teton Ridge Entertainment to helm the ambitious revival for television viewers.
