Superman

Superman is a foundational DC Comics superhero property and the central cinematic franchise within the revamped DC Universe overseen by DC Studios co-boss James Gunn. The iconic character, also known as the Man of Steel, anchors an interconnected entertainment universe spanning feature films, television drama series, and special print comic crossovers.

Recent coverage focuses on major production milestones for the upcoming feature film sequel, titled Man of Tomorrow, starring David Corenswet in the lead role. Principal photography on the blockbuster project officially wrapped under Gunn's direction. Cast developments include Xolo Maridueña returning as Blue Beetle after receiving a direct phone call from Gunn, as well as Adria Arjona undertaking an intensive physical routine of weightlifting and boxing for her role.

The franchise footprint extends across multiple media formats in the newly established DC Studios slate. The upcoming HBO investigative drama series Lanterns establishes foundational lore that links directly to the new cinematic universe, while comic releases feature the hero alongside Batman in the multidimensional crossover special Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World's Weirdest 1.
