Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy is a gritty television drama series created by Kurt Sutter that originally broadcast on the FX network. Running for seven seasons before wrapping up its initial run in 2014, the show focused on the fictional Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original, commonly known as SAMCRO, operating in California.

The series gained widespread recognition as one of cable television's biggest hits, relying on heavy machinery, open highways, and intense club conflicts. At its creative core, the drama drew direct inspiration from William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, translating classical themes of betrayal, generational curses, and doomed loyalty into a modern outlaw biker saga. The main ensemble cast included Charlie Hunnam as Jax Teller alongside Katey Sagal, Ron Perlman, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, and Kim Coates.

More than a decade after the series finale, the franchise continues to generate viewer interest and expand its universe. Network FX ordered a spinoff limited series titled Legends, bringing back leading cast members to reprise their roles. While creator Kurt Sutter constructed the original saga, reports indicate he is not involved in the operational or creative production of the new project.
