Muna

Muna is an indie-pop powerhouse trio known for emotionally candid songwriting, distinct visual point of view, and authentic self-expression. The band's members include multi-instrumentalist, guitarist, and producer Naomi McPherson alongside bandmate Katie Gavin.

The queer indie-pop group has expanded its visibility through commercial partnerships and major television appearances. Muna fronted UGG's high-profile back-to-school fall campaign supporting LGBTQ+ arts, entering the footwear collaboration because the campaign's creative team intended to represent them authentically without altering their personal look or artistic values. The group also performed as the featured musical act on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which prompted online frustration from McPherson after learning the episode's primary couch guest was actress Gal Gadot.

In September 2026, the band faced a lineup adjustment right before hitting the road for their upcoming live tour. McPherson confirmed they were temporarily stepping away from the tour's opening leg to support their family and care for their mother following a terminal cancer diagnosis. Musician Lou Roy was tapped to cover guitar duties for Muna's initial tour dates while McPherson remains at home as a caregiver.
