About Late Night With Seth Meyers
Late Night With Seth Meyers is an NBC late-night television broadcast franchise hosted by comedian Seth Meyers. The program features political satire, news commentary, and comedy segments presented on traditional network television as well as through digital spin-off projects.
A signature staple of the show is its recurring afternoon segment Day Drinking, where Seth Meyers shares drinks at a bar stool with high-profile celebrity guests. The segment previously featured singer Rihanna, and during a behind-the-scenes audience question-and-answer session, Meyers named Beyoncé as his ultimate dream guest for the bit.
The franchise also produces digital audio and web content, including the podcast A Closer Look Out of Office, which derives from the flagship broadcast segment A Closer Look. Created with head writer Sal Gentile, the digital program allows the host to react to major political developments, such as reports concerning Donald Trump and international trip security, even when the regular network broadcast is taking a break from airing.
- Coverage of Late Night With Seth Meyers focuses heavily on its popular recurring comedy segments and digital extensions.
- Reports highlight how the show maintains an active political comedy presence online even when network broadcasts are on hiatus.
- Media interest also centers on behind-the-scenes audience interactions and high-profile celebrity guest wishlist items.
