Gerard Way is a lead singer and frontman best known for heading the alternative rock group My Chemical Romance. As a prominent figure in the mid-2000s alt-rock and emo music scene, Way has fronted the band during major North American stadium runs and monumental album milestone celebrations.
During the band's Long Live The Black Parade anniversary tour across North America, Way performed the group's landmark 2006 concept album in its entirety. While appearing at stadium stops such as Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, he delivered historic live premieres of rare tracks and honored the memory of late guitarist Andy Williams.
At the tour finale held at San Antonio's Alamodome, Way announced from the stage that the group hopes to return to the studio to record a new full-length album. The potential project would represent the band's first original record in fifteen years, coinciding with an expanded 20th anniversary reissue of their four-times platinum album, set to feature rare audio cuts and unreleased B-sides via Reprise Records.
