Emmys 2026

The 2026 Emmy Awards is the annual awards ceremony presented by the Television Academy to honor outstanding achievements in small-screen entertainment, drama, comedy, and limited series. Held on September 14, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the broadcast served as television's ultimate celebration.

Actress Mariska Hargitay served as master of ceremonies for the telecast. To prevent traditional broadcast overruns, the Television Academy implemented a significant format change by trimming six categories from the live program, capping the main ceremony at 19 category presentations. Early buzz surrounding the ceremony highlighted anticipated series such as The Pitt and Widow's Bay.

The telecast featured high-profile moments, including a surprise pre-taped comedy sketch starring pop superstar Taylor Swift alongside Hargitay in a parody of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. On the red carpet, viewers and online commentators noted visible body transformations among stars, sparking renewed debate over weight-loss medications. Following the ceremony, nominees and winners continued celebrations at late-night after-parties across Los Angeles.
