Catherine O'hara

Catherine O'Hara was a legendary comedy and film actress whose career spanned decades of groundbreaking comedic performances and landmark roles across both television and cinema screen projects. Recognized throughout the entertainment industry for her peerless talent, theatrical genius, and generous spirit, she left a profound mark on her colleagues, co-stars, and generations of fans who grew up watching her work.

She achieved global recognition for her portrayal of Kate McCallister, the frantic and loving mother in the iconic blockbuster holiday movie Home Alone. In her later television career, she introduced her work to an entirely new generation of viewers through her award-winning portrayal of Moira Rose on the hit comedy series Schitt's Creek.

Following her passing in January at the age of 71, co-stars from across her television and film roles stepped forward to share deeply personal memories and pay emotional tributes. At the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards telecast in Los Angeles, her former on-screen children Macaulay Culkin, Dan Levy, and Annie Murphy united on stage alongside Jamie Lee Curtis to anchor a special memorial presentation dedicated to her enduring legacy.
