Tool Frontman Maynard James Keenan Is Opening a Sushi Restaurant in Arizona

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan is officially adding sushi creator to his stacked resume. The legendary vocalist behind A Perfect Circle and Puscifer is launching a brand-new sushi restaurant, expanding his already massive local empire in Arizona's Verde Valley. While rock fans know Keenan for his powerful, signature vocals, the musician has spent decades building a second career as a serious gastronome and entrepreneur. He first transformed his adopted Arizona home into a wine destination with his longtime winery, proving his palate is just as refined as his musical taste.

Keenan's business moves have steadily grown beyond the vineyard over the past few years. Alongside his wife, Jennifer, the musician expanded the Queen B Vinyl Café two years ago. The unique community spot brought together an eclectic mix of offerings, allowing visitors to shop for records, get a fresh haircut, sip on fresh-roasted coffee, and grab a bite to eat all under one roof. Now, the rock legend is taking his love for quality food a step further by introducing a dedicated sushi establishment to his Verde Valley lineup, according to reports.

Balancing three iconic bands—Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer—with a growing hospitality empire might seem overwhelming for most rock stars. However, Keenan has continuously managed to juggle stadium tours, recording sessions, and hands-on business management without slowing down. The addition of a sushi spot marks yet another chapter in Keenan's unconventional career path. Fans traveling to Arizona can now pair their love for progressive metal with wine, vinyl, coffee, and fresh fish, courtesy of rock's busiest frontman.
