Steve Coogan Classic '24 Hour Party People' Heading Back To Cinemas For Milestone Anniversary

The chaotic magic of the Madchester sound is heading back to the big screen. Michael Winterbottom’s celebrated 2002 music biopic *24 Hour Party People* is making a triumphant return to movie theaters this fall to mark a special milestone. The beloved British film stars Steve Coogan as Tony Wilson, the charismatic television presenter and founder of Factory Records. The narrative captures the wild ascension and ultimate downfall of the Manchester-based record company, shedding light on the legendary late-1980s and early-1990s cultural movement that transformed UK pop culture forever.

Film fans will be able to catch the movie back on the big screen on October 9. Shortly after its theatrical run, a brand-new 4K UHD physical edition is scheduled to drop on October 26 for collectors looking to upgrade their home library. The celebration kicks off even earlier in Greater Manchester itself. The movie has been selected to open the Beyond The Music media and music conference at Salford’s MediaCity on October 6. The launch screening will feature an exclusive live Q&A session with both Coogan and director Winterbottom, offering fans a rare look back at the making of the cult hit.

While Coogan delivers one of his most memorable performances as Wilson, the movie is equally famous for its stacked ensemble of top-tier British talent.
