Spotify is officially sending three of the UK’s most celebrated musical talents back to where their journeys first started. The streaming platform has formally unveiled *Hometown*, a brand-new live performance initiative designed to reconnect major artists with the local roots that shaped their signature sounds. R&B sensation Jorja Smith, indie-pop icon Beabadoobee, and Manchester rap favorite Nemzzz are stepping up to headline the inaugural three-part concert series this September. Rather than packing out massive arena tours, these ultra-intimate gigs are tailored specifically for each artist's top streaming listeners, who will receive exclusive invites to the secret crowds.
When do the Spotify Hometown concerts take place?
The intimate series officially kicks off on September 6 with Jorja Smith taking the stage in Walsall, the West Midlands area near Birmingham where her musical path originally began. The special performance arrives around the drop of her third studio record, *What Are The Odds*. Reflecting on the opportunity, Smith shared that Walsall is where she initially wrote and recorded music as a teenager, crediting the local community and her early experiences there with sparking her lifelong love for the craft. Rising hip-hop star Nemzzz takes over the second leg of the franchise with a Manchester gig on September 12. Wrapping up the initial run on September 17 is Beabadoobee, who will take the stage in London for her own high-energy set. Specific venues for all three secret shows have not yet been announced, keeping super-fans on high alert for entry details.

How can fans watch the Spotify Hometown series?
For the millions of listeners who cannot score an in-person ticket, Spotify confirmed that every single show will be recorded. The platform plans to launch the performances as exclusive concert films available to stream worldwide at a later date. The franchise also extends well beyond live music. Spotify is partnering directly with Smith, Nemzzz, and Beabadoobee to support local grassroots causes. The joint effort will feature charitable donations and direct backing for youth organizations across Walsall, Manchester, and London.
