Simone Biles Unfollows Influencer After 'Weird' DM Response About Hair

Simone Biles isn't playing around on social media. The seven-time Olympic gold medalist recently hopped on TikTok to share a hilarious yet relatable story about why she ended up unfollowing a well-known influencer. According to the gymnastics icon, a totally strange interaction in the direct messages was all it took to hit that unfollow button. Biles explained to her followers that she had been keeping tabs on the unnamed creator for a while. She genuinely admired the woman's aesthetic, overall fashion, and especially her hair, which constantly looked perfectly styled. Biles noted that she couldn't even tell if the creator was wearing a weave or displaying her natural hair, but she was obsessed with how polished it always looked.

The athlete revealed that online trolls were a big reason she decided to reach out in the first place. For years, social media users had been making critical comments about Biles' hair during high-stress gymnastics competitions. Wanting to avoid future backlash from online bullies, she figured getting connected with a top-tier hairstylist would finally shut down the relentless commentary. Hoping to get the hookup, Biles decided to slide into the creator's DMs with a direct question asking who handled her hair appointments. But instead of getting a helpful referral or a stylist's handle, Biles got an answer that left her completely speechless.

BUZZBEAT

According to Biles, the creator messaged back: "Bless. My manager has it. I'll have to ask her." The cryptic reply immediately threw the Olympic legend for a loop. Biles couldn't comprehend how anyone could sit through hair appointments without even knowing the person operating on their head. Reacting to the bizarre response in her TikTok clip, Biles dramatically closed her tablet screen to demonstrate her utter disbelief. Rather than waiting around for a manager's update or dealing with what felt like unnecessary gatekeeping, the superstar decided to cut her digital ties right then and there.
