London music fans got a double dose of star-powered live collaborations this week. Indie pop singer Rex Orange County kicked off a massive weekend in the UK capital by bringing Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates onstage during a tiny pop-up gig, right before joining long-time friend Tyler, The Creator at the All Points East festival. The musician, real name Alexander James O’Connor, packed out London’s intimate Village Underground venue on Thursday, August 27 for a warm-up performance. Midway through the sweat-soaked set, he stunned the crowd by inviting Yates out for a shock duet.

The pair debuted an unreleased track titled "Elvis." According to fan reports, the song opens with a stripped-back acoustic guitar pattern before building into dramatic orchestral string arrangements and atmospheric flute touches. O'Connor took the lead vocals early on, crooning about shaking his legs like the legendary King of Rock and Roll and wanting to stay in a hotel room forever. Yates traded his trademark hardcore Turnstile vocals for a smooth, melodic delivery, taking over the final verse to complete the track. The intimate performance gave lucky concertgoers a rare preview of fresh material before O'Connor moves on to his next project.

Who joined Tyler The Creator at All Points East in London?
The excitement did not end at the small venue. Thursday's surprise gig acted as a warm-up for Tyler, The Creator's massive takeover at Victoria Park on Friday, where the rap superstar headlined All Points East. During Tyler's headlining set, Rex Orange County returned the favor by jumping onstage in front of tens of thousands of festival-goers. Their joint appearance highlighted a massive day of music curated by the West Coast artist. Tyler’s stacked festival lineup featured heavy hitters across multiple genres, including performances by Turnstile, Sexyy Red, Clipse, Vince Staples, Mariah The Scientist, Ravyn Lenae, and Fakemink. With surprise cameos and rare acoustic debuts, the weekend proved to be one of London's biggest live music moments of the summer.
