Actor Quinton Aaron is opening up about surviving a harrowing medical nightmare that almost cost him his life earlier this year. The 42-year-old Hollywood star, best known for his breakthrough role in *The Blind Side*, endured a terrifying sequence of health emergencies that began in late January when severe back pain unexpectedly turned into complete lower-body paralysis. After waking up unable to move or feel anything below his waist, emergency medical technicians had to carry the six-foot-eight actor out of his home on a stretcher. The situation grew even more critical once he arrived at the hospital, where he quickly slipped into a coma. When he finally regained consciousness a few days later, his heart stopped, requiring medical staff to resuscitate him multiple times after he went into cardiac arrest.
Quinton Aaron medical emergency Doctors eventually diagnosed the star with a spinal stroke as well as a pulmonary embolism. The double medical blow left Aaron intubated and unable to speak for almost a month while doctors stabilized his condition. Presently, he remains in a specialized rehabilitation center continuing his long road to physical recovery. Despite the extreme ordeal, the devoutly religious actor says he feels profoundly grateful for what he considers a true second chance at life.

Is Quinton Aaron still married While fighting for his life in the hospital, Aaron was hit with a second major shock—this time concerning his marriage. The actor had tied the knot with Margarita DeLeon in December 2024. However, while he was incapacitated and unable to communicate, his relatives broke the news that DeLeon was still legally wed to her previous husband. Because her former divorce had never actually been finalized, authorities blocked DeLeon from making critical healthcare decisions during Aaron's hospitalization. DeLeon has since claimed she had no idea her previous marriage was still legally valid. Regardless, Aaron confirmed that he has not spoken to her at all since his stroke occurred, choosing instead to focus entirely on his rehabilitation and faith.
