Korn Has Officially Wrapped Recording Their Long-Awaited New Album

Get ready to turn the volume all the way up. California nu-metal legends Korn appear to have officially crossed the finish line on recording sessions for their highly anticipated next studio album. The massive milestone did not drop through a standard record label press release or a polished social media teaser. Instead, the update slipped out during a recent feature on the popular drumming YouTube channel *Drumeo*, where band members and crew walked through their current studio setup. While showing off the gear used by drummer Ray Luzier, drum technician Mark Bennett held up a rare snare drum and let the big news fly. Bennett revealed that the specific instrument—a discontinued Pearl Copper Free Floating snare—was the exact piece of equipment used to finish tracking the group's new record. He added that while the snare is impossible to purchase nowadays, the band's crew luckily has five of them in their inventory.

While the band has not yet shared an official title or a release date, completing drum tracking and studio recording signals that post-production work is likely underway. The incoming record will mark the heavy metal outfit's first full-length effort since their 2022 release, *Requiem*. Getting to the finish line was no quick feat. Guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer previously explained that crafting the new material required an extensive creative effort. Speaking to *Rolling Stone Brasil*, Shaffer shared that the band wrote almost 40 different tracks during the process, constantly tearing them down, rewriting them, and polishing the music until they got everything just right.

Fans recently got a fresh sample of the band's heavy sound when Korn released "Reward The Scars," a track produced specifically for the video game *Diablo IV: Lord Of Hatred*. That release came accompanied by a gory animated music video, showing that the group's signature energy remains as intense as ever. With recording officially in the books according to their crew, listeners can expect further announcements regarding the tracklist, lead singles, and an official release timeline in the coming months.
