Jason Aldean Pays Homage to Ronnie Milsap With New Single ‘Anytime Soon’

Jason Aldean is bringing retro country roots back to the airwaves. The hitmaker serviced his latest single, "Anytime Soon," to country radio via Broken Bow, delivering a track that draws deep inspiration from one of the genre's most celebrated legends. Built around vintage keyboard tones and high-energy classic rock riffs, the song captured the singer's attention from the very first listen. The origins of the new track date back to May 2024 during the Academy of Country Music Awards in Frisco, Texas. While Aldean was at the event to deliver a special acoustic tribute honoring the late Toby Keith, his longtime collaborators were crafting new music behind the scenes. Bassist Tully Kennedy and guitarist Kurt Allison put together a fresh demo that stood out due to Allison's use of a Fender Rhodes electric piano.

That distinct keyboard sound served as a direct nod to country music icon Ronnie Milsap, specifically echoing the signature atmosphere of Milsap's classic track "Stranger in My House." The track’s writers paired that vintage keyboard arrangement with driving rock influences reminiscent of Tom Petty and Journey, creating a blend tailored specifically to Aldean's tastes. The singer recalled instantly spotting the musical homage to Milsap upon hearing the initial recording. Recognizing the potential right away, Aldean decided on the spot that the track was an absolute must-have for his next studio project.
