YouTube megastar Sean McLoughlin, better known online as Jacksepticeye, is officially jumping into cinematic storytelling. Joining forces with fellow content creator Alanah Pearce, the pair have unveiled a first look at their debut indie horror feature, *Godmother*. The project marks another massive milestone for digital creators taking full control of their Hollywood ambitions. Following in the footsteps of internet personalities like Markiplier, who recently tackled his own feature film *Iron Lung*, Pearce and McLoughlin took matters into their own hands to get the project off the ground. McLoughlin directly funded the movie's principal photography, while Helmstreet Pictures stepped up to cover post-production costs. Pearce built the creative backbone of the film, co-writing the screenplay alongside director John Veron and producing under her Charred Pictures banner. McLoughlin serves as an executive producer on the creepy feature.
What is the Godmother movie about?

The upcoming horror film draws heavy inspiration from genre classics like *Rosemary’s Baby* and *The Return of the Living Dead*. According to details released alongside the first look, the narrative centers on a young woman named Theo, played by Paige Evans. Theo embarks on a desert getaway alongside her tech-obsessed boyfriend, portrayed by Cameron Cuffe, and her tagalong sister, played by Riley Dandy. However, their peaceful vacation rental turns ominous the moment they step foot on the property. The trio is greeted by an overly welcoming older couple, played by horror veteran Dee Wallace and character actor Bruce Davison, whose interest in Theo feels deeply unnatural.

When does Godmother come out?

While an official wide release date has yet to be announced, *Godmother* is gearing up for its film festival debut. The initial sneak peek arrives as independent cinema continues to welcome major digital personalities behind the camera. Pearce, who boasts hundreds of thousands of followers on YouTube alongside her work in the gaming industry, teamed up with McLoughlin's massive audience of over 31 million subscribers to turn the vision into reality. With top-tier horror talent like Dee Wallace attached to the cast, the movie aims to bridge the gap between online gaming culture and traditional theatrical horror storytelling.
