Dolly Parton Classics Returning To AMC Theaters For Special Limited Run

Get ready to pour yourself a cup of ambition and head back to the cinema. AMC Theatres is bringing two of Dolly Parton’s biggest big-screen classics back to the silver screen for an exclusive, limited-time celebration. The theater chain announced that fans can catch 1982's musical comedy *The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas* alongside the beloved 1989 tearjerker *Steel Magnolias* at select locations. The special event kicks off on Aug. 28 and runs through Sept. 2, giving moviegoers a rare chance to see the country music legend shine on the big screen once again.

More than 200 AMC locations across the country will participate in the week-long retrospective. Fans in Parton’s home state of Tennessee will get plenty of showtimes, with participating locations offering daily matinee screenings for both films at discounted ticket rates. *The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas* remains one of Parton’s signature screen roles. She earned a Golden Globe nomination for portraying Miss Mona, the spirited brothel owner of the famous Chicken Ranch. The plot follows Mona's fight to keep her establishment open when an overzealous TV newsman, played by Dom DeLuise, launches a crusade against it.
