Caleb Shomo Embraces Self-Love, Coming Out, and a Bold New Era for Beartooth

Caleb Shomo is stepping into a bright new headspace. The Beartooth founder and frontman is opening up about self-acceptance, personal growth, and choosing happiness after coming out, framing the band's sixth studio project as a celebration of newfound clarity. Since forming the heavy music powerhouse in Columbus, Ohio back in 2012, Shomo built a reputation on uncompromising emotional vulnerability. Early projects like the band's debut release *Disgusting* through 2020's *Below* provided raw, unfiltered accounts of his struggles with mental well-being. Over time, that pain began transforming into resilience. The emotional pivot truly took root on 2023's *The Surface*, where Shomo began incorporating infectious pop hooks alongside the group's signature crushing riffs. With their latest offering, *Pure Ecstasy*, the frontman doubles down on that blend, maintaining the band's heavy edge while leaning completely into themes of joy and grace.

The upcoming project serves as the group's debut release under the Fearless Records banner. Fans have already received early tastes of the record through previously dropped singles such as "Free," "Eyes Closed," "Bullshit," and the energetic title anthem.

Beyond Shomo's personal evolution, the project boasts impressive collaborative muscle. Former Bring Me The Horizon member Jordan Fish joined forces with the group to provide co-writing and production support, helping polish the album's massive chorus-driven sound. Reflecting on his journey toward self-worth, Shomo emphasized the importance of staying patient with oneself through dark times. By embracing his identity and refusing to stay trapped in past struggles, the rock frontman is proving that choosing happiness can be the heaviest statement of all.
