Amy Ryan Joins Emilia Jones In Netflix’s New Drama 'The Retrievals'

Netflix is adding major star power to its upcoming limited series *The Retrievals*. Oscar-nominated actress Amy Ryan has officially joined the cast alongside *CODA* breakout Emilia Jones. The project comes from writer and executive producer Molly Smith Metzler, who previously delivered the smash hit *Maid* for the streaming platform. The newly announced drama marks another high-profile collaboration between Metzler and Netflix. With production gearing up, the project promises a tense, emotionally charged look at systemic failures within the medical establishment.

*The Retrievals* draws its story directly from the Peabody Award-winning *New York Times* podcast hosted and reported by Susan Burton. The audio series captivated listeners by uncovering a harrowing reality faced by women attempting to build families through in vitro fertilization. The plot centers on a group of IVF patients who form an unexpected bond after suffering through excruciating procedures at a prestigious clinic. As the truth about their care comes to light, the women band together in an intense battle for accountability against Yale University.

Amy Ryan brings a formidable acting resume to the production. The acclaimed performer recently appeared in *Only Murders in the Building* and earned an Academy Award nomination for her role in *Gone Baby Gone*, alongside celebrated turns in *Birdman* and *The Office*. She stars opposite Emilia Jones, who made waves with her award-winning role in Apple TV+’s *CODA* and led Netflix’s supernatural drama *Locke & Key*. The upcoming project continues Metzler’s streak at Netflix, where she is also developing the series *Sirens* following the massive audience response to *Maid*.
