Zurich Film Festival

The Zurich Film Festival is an annual cinema gathering held in Switzerland to celebrate international filmmaking and acting talent. The event serves as a major showcase on the European film festival circuit, drawing actors, directors, and industry leaders to present premier features and accept prestigious career honors.

The 22nd annual edition of the festival features top awards including the Golden Icon Award and the Golden Eye Award. Julianne Moore was selected to receive the Golden Icon Award in recognition of her extraordinary film career, accompanying a special premiere of her feature film The Debut alongside writer-director Jesse Eisenberg. Meanwhile, Golden Eye Awards were designated for Naomi Watts for her dramatic turn in Ben Shirinian's period drama The Housewife and for John Turturro for his lead performance in Noah Segan's indie feature The Only Living Pickpocket in New York.

The festival lineup opens on September 24 with the Swiss premiere of Tenzing, an Apple Original Films production detailing the historic Mount Everest expedition of Himalayan mountaineer Tenzing Norgay. The survival thriller stars Genden Phuntsok as Norgay alongside co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Willem Dafoe.
