Universal Pictures

Universal Pictures is a major Hollywood film studio, production company, and motion picture distributor responsible for acquiring, developing, producing, and releasing feature films to audiences worldwide.

The studio manages distribution and production for major theatrical blockbusters and long-standing cinematic franchises. Its recent theatrical distribution successes include Christopher Nolan's epic cinematic event The Odyssey, which achieved over $1.59 billion in cumulative global box office earnings, as well as the multi-billion-dollar Fast & Furious franchise, which is preparing for principal photography on its next installment, Fast Forever.

Universal continues to secure underlying feature rights and assemble creative talent across biopics, retro action reboots, crime thrillers, and horror franchises. Projects currently moving forward under the studio include the Snoop Dogg biographical film Snoop, the action feature Miami Vice '85, an American remake of the South Korean thriller Confession of Murder, and potential follow-ups with frequent horror production partner Blumhouse. The studio works alongside various directors, screenwriters, and partner companies to bring new and existing intellectual properties to multiplexes.
