The x Factor

The X Factor is a British television singing competition and talent search franchise. During its original run, weekly episodes featured hopeful contestants auditioning before judging panels in pursuit of a life-changing record contract. The show spent over a decade on primetime television, defining weekend pop-culture chatter and launching household names.

The original main series wrapped in 2018, followed by short-lived spin-off formats before the brand was placed on an extended pause. Throughout its broadcast history, the show transformed the lives of its contestants, including 2009 auditionee Stacey Solomon, who launched a multi-media television career after captivating viewers on the show.

Recent reports indicate network executives are eyeing a high-profile revival of the singing competition roughly seven years after it was shelved. Music mogul Simon Cowell is reportedly targeting presenter Maya Jama to host the potential reboot as part of a strategy to modernize the judging panel and attract Gen Z audiences.
