Sheriff Country

Sheriff Country is a police-centric drama series airing on CBS, starring Morena Baccarin in the lead role of Sheriff Mickey Fox. Formed as a spinoff within the broader Fire Country television universe, the drama follows law enforcement cases and personal challenges set against a fictional Northern California backdrop.

The show's premiere episode, titled Cyclone, immediately tests the lead character with intense professional and personal hurdles. The season premiere also features a guest appearance by Ben McKenzie, reuniting him on screen with Baccarin. The married actors previously co-starred on the television series Gotham, where McKenzie portrayed Detective Jim Gordon and Baccarin played Dr. Leslie Thompkins.

Beyond its core storyline, Sheriff Country contributes to the broader expansion of its network franchise. Actor Noah Reid, known for his work on Schitt's Creek, joined the show for a two-episode guest arc as a main physician character. This storyline serves as a backdoor pilot for network executives to evaluate a prospective medical spinoff set in the same television universe.
