Rush is an iconic Canadian progressive rock band known for technical mastery, intricate time signatures, and stadium-filling performances. The classic lineup featured bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and the late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who earned universal acclaim for his technical rhythm skill and songwriting contributions before his passing.
Following a period of inactivity, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced a major return to the stage in 2026 with the "Fifty Something" reunion tour. Drummer Anika Nilles joined the group to handle live percussion, taking on revered progressive rock arrangements including the famous drum fill in the track "Tom Sawyer." To prepare for the demanding tour schedule, Lifeson made lifestyle adjustments including taking a break from cannabis use.
The 2026 reunion tour generated strong fan demand, leading the group to expand its North American itinerary with additional arena dates in Houston, St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. Alongside the band's stage return, a feature-length documentary titled "Neil Peart: No One's Disciple" was produced to celebrate Peart's life, career, and lasting influence on rock music.
