Mayday

Mayday is a Cold War retro action-comedy feature film produced by Skydance Media and Apple. Directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the movie follows a lone-wolf Navy pilot whose aircraft crashes deep inside hostile Russian territory during the height of Cold War tensions in 1987.

The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Navy aviator Troy Kelly, whose solitary backstory and high-stakes crash launch the narrative. Kenneth Branagh co-stars as a KGB operative, performing his own physical stunt work for the role after initially assuming comedic actor Zach Galifianakis would be cast instead.
