About Looney Tunes
Looney Tunes is an iconic animated cartoon franchise featuring classic characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Wile E. Coyote. Spanning nearly a century of pop-culture history, the brand is widely recognized for its slapstick comedic style, vintage shorts, and rebellious creative streak.
In recent developments, the animated universe forms the foundation for Coyote vs. Acme, a hybrid live-action and animated feature film starring Will Forte and Lana Condor. The movie places Wile E. Coyote front and center as he hires a legal representative to sue the Acme Corporation over every defective rocket pack, faulty catapult, and exploding anvil that thwarted his pursuit of lunch.
The film's journey to the big screen became a major industry story after Warner Bros. initially moved to lock away the finished project for a tax write-off. Following widespread outrage, creative campaigns, and a secret funeral screening organized by the cast and filmmakers, Warner Bros. sold the feature to indie distributor Ketchup Entertainment for theatrical release.
- Coverage primarily focuses on the dramatic distribution history of the hybrid feature Coyote vs. Acme.
- Reports emphasize how public fan demand and industry pushback successfully saved the movie from being permanently vaulted for a tax write-off.
- Articles also highlight the enduring legacy of Looney Tunes characters and their nearly century-long impact on slapstick animation.
