Jeff Tweedy

Jeff Tweedy is an indie rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist who serves as the frontman and leader of the alternative rock group Wilco. Beyond his primary work with his band, Tweedy maintains a direct-to-fan newsletter on Substack, where he regularly releases solo acoustic covers and connects directly with listeners.

In August 2026, Tweedy made a surprise live appearance at the Green Man festival in the Brecon Beacons of Wales. He took the Mountain Stage as an unannounced guest guitarist alongside South London post-punk outfit Dry Cleaning, assisting vocalist Florence Shaw and her bandmates on their track My Soul/Half Pint.

Tweedy actively uses his platform and status to champion emerging independent musicians. In late August 2026, he released a rendition of Real Magic, originally by Emily Moales' project Star Moles, to highlight artists in the Philadelphia and Historic New Jersey music scenes. Weeks later, he shared a Substack cover of Wild Connection, a track from New Orleans group Twisted Teens' album Blame The Clown.
