Jay Wheeler biography
Jay Wheeler is a Puerto Rican singer and Latin music hitmaker known for his melodic sound and consistent presence on radio airwaves across North America. He has established a strong track record on music charts, regularly competing at the top of overall Latin radio rankings.
In August 2026, Wheeler reached the top of the Billboard Latin Airplay chart with his popular single "De Lejitos." The track took a decisive jump from the number two spot straight to the summit. The song carried a personal origin story rooted in his home life, having been inspired by his daughter. This milestone marked a swift return to the chart's peak for the artist, coming just five months after he last commanded the overall Latin radio rankings back in March 2026.
Wheeler's run at the top of the airwaves with "De Lejitos" concluded in September 2026 when Colombian singer ARIA VEGA's single "Chévere" surged in radio audience impressions across the United States. The track knocked Wheeler's single off the top spot on the Latin Airplay list after holding the crown.
