The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a world-famous historic sidewalk landmark located along Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. It features concrete and brass-and-terrazzo markers created to honor prominent entertainment figures and legends across music, theater, and film.
Recent star unveilings emphasize historic milestones for international performers. Broadway icon Lea Salonga made history as the first Filipina artist to receive a dedicated star on the boulevard. Beninese vocalist and five-time Grammy Award winner Angélique Kidjo also unveiled her sidewalk marker, becoming both the first African musician and the initial Black African entertainer to be immortalized on the Walk of Fame. Her ceremony was attended by family, executives, and celebrity admirers including Willem Dafoe, Djimon Hounsou, and Adekunle Gold.
In addition to milestone ceremonies, coverage addresses physical upkeep of the sidewalk strip. Restoration crews were deployed along Hollywood Boulevard to repair and replace Dolly Parton's concrete marker after vandals scratched away the country music icon's name and snatched floral tributes left at the location.
