Alabama Shakes

Alabama Shakes is an Alabama-formed roots-rock and soul group that gained global prominence during the early 2010s. The outfit established itself as a major force in modern rock music through a distinct sound combining raspy soul vocals, blues guitar instrumentation, and high-energy performances.

The band's lineup features lead vocalist and guitarist Brittany Howard alongside guitar player Heath Fogg and bandmate Zac Cockrell. After achieving widespread critical acclaim and attracting a devoted international fanbase with their early releases, the ensemble entered a prolonged studio hiatus that extended across more than ten years.

In August 2026, the group officially reunited to release their third full-length studio project, titled I Must Be Dreaming. Speaking during a podcast appearance, Howard confirmed that an unexpected chain of events brought the original trio back together in the recording studio, ending an 11-year break from dropping new music and cementing their return as a full-time recording unit.
