About Adults
Adults is an FX comedy series created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw. Set in Queens, New York City, the show follows a group of messy, codependent twenty-something roommates navigating post-college life, career hurdles, shared apartment etiquette, and complex social dynamics while attempting to transition into adulthood.
The ensemble cast is led by Malik Elassal as Samir, Owen Thiele as Anton, Jack Innanen as Paul Baker, and Amita Rao as Issa. Romantic tension forms a core narrative arc, beginning with an unexpected kiss between Anton and Paul in the Season 1 finale, which sparked jealousy from Issa and established a simmering love triangle that spiraled during Season 2.
Season 2 premiered on August 27, 2026, following a period of hiatus where cast members expressed anxiety regarding renewal. The season featured notable guest appearances, including Raven-Symoné playing Anton's onscreen sister. Following the Season 2 finale, showrunners teased ongoing chaos for potential future episodes, while Elassal publicly voiced interest in securing a guest cameo from local political figure Zohran Mamdani if FX greenlights Season 3.
- Coverage of Adults focuses heavily on the show's realistic portrayal of Gen Z roommate dynamics in New York City alongside its evolving character relationships.
- Reports also highlight behind-the-scenes perspectives from the cast and showrunners, emphasizing guest casting choices and hopes for future season renewals.
