Zachary Levi Trashes California as a ‘Failed State’ After Relocating to Texas

Zachary Levi has officially washed his hands of the Golden State. The former *Shazam!* star opened up about his decision to swap Southern California for Texas, making it crystal clear that he has zero regrets about leaving Los Angeles in his rearview mirror. In a blistering critique of his former home, the Hollywood actor didn't hold back on why he decided to pack his bags and relocate across the country. Calling out the state's current climate, Levi described California as a "failed state" that is currently "literally and figuratively on fire." According to reports, the actor felt the general living conditions and overall trajectory of the West Coast entertainment hub had become completely untenable, driving him to seek out a fresh start and a brand-new lifestyle in the Lone Star State.

Levi's high-profile departure puts him right in line with a steady stream of showbiz figures who have dumped California for Texas, Florida, and other spots outside the West Coast. High costs, political frustration, and general dissatisfaction with the quality of life in Los Angeles have prompted numerous stars to establish new roots elsewhere in recent years. For Levi, relocating to Texas offers a clear break from the relentless hustle and chaos of the traditional Hollywood bubble. However, putting thousands of miles between himself and the Los Angeles zip code doesn't mean the actor is stepping back from making major studio projects.

BUZZBEAT

Even while taking very public shots at the state where his career blossomed, Levi remains fully booked in the movie business. The star is officially gearing up to lead *The Fix*, a high-stakes action-thriller project directed by filmmaker Guy Moshe. Levi will share top billing directly opposite veteran action hero Liam Neeson in the upcoming feature. The thrilling collaboration marks another high-octane movie vehicle for Levi as he moves on from his superhero franchise era, proving that regardless of where he decides to live, his Hollywood career is still moving full steam ahead.
