Welsh Rock Icons Manic Street Preachers Announce Massive 'The Holy Bible' Live Package

Welsh rock powerhouse Manic Street Preachers are resurrecting one of the most intense chapters in British alternative rock history. The group has officially detailed a massive new physical and digital package centered around their legendary 1994 third studio record, *The Holy Bible*. Scheduled to land on October 23, the comprehensive set titled *The Holy Bible Live* documents the band's ferocious 2014 anniversary tour. A decade ago, fresh off the critical acclaim of their twelfth studio LP *Futurology*, lyricist and bassist Nicky Wire alongside his bandmates felt they finally had the creative space to look back. They decided to perform the entire 1994 album live from start to finish for what was intended as a rare, definitive run of shows. Dressed head-to-toe in their signature 1994-era military aesthetic, the Welsh icons took to UK stages with uncompromising intensity. Those raw, razor-sharp concerts were meticulously captured for posterity, and now fans are finally getting the complete experience.

The centerpiece of the video component is the long-anticipated concert film *Be Pure, Be Vigilant, Behave*. Directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Kieran Evans—a frequent visual collaborator with the group—the movie takes its striking title from a lyric in the album's frantic finale, "P.C.P." Evans cut together footage from the UK tour dates to chronicle a band fearlessly facing their most haunting material. The director captured both the explosive stage presence and the intense emotional resonance of the anniversary shows.
