Rebecca Ferguson & Greta Lee Team Up For Transatlantic Rom-Com 'Honeymoon/Funeral'

A massive new movie package is hitting the market, and it brings together two of Hollywood's most captivating actresses. Rebecca Ferguson and Greta Lee are officially set to co-star in *Honeymoon/Funeral*, a fresh romantic comedy that is currently launching worldwide sales at the Toronto International Film Festival market. Indie studio MRC is on board to fully finance and oversee production on the upcoming feature film. The project lands with serious creative talent attached behind the scenes as well. Filmmaker Nahnatchka Khan is stepping up to direct the feature, working from an original screenplay crafted by Julia Bicknell. Global distribution rights are currently being managed by FilmNation Entertainment, which is shopping the package to interested international buyers as festival activities kick off.

According to the movie's official logline, the story centers around two completely different women who happen to meet aboard an airplane during a flight from Los Angeles to London. Both individuals find themselves facing hugely complicated personal milestones as they head across the Atlantic Ocean. One of the women is embarking on what was originally intended to be a romantic honeymoon getaway. However, she is making the trip entirely on her own after being abandoned at the altar by her ex-girlfriend. Meanwhile, her seatmate is making the long journey home to bid farewell to her mother at an upcoming funeral. After striking up an unexpected bond mid-flight, the pair end up agreeing to spend the entire week together in the UK, navigating their sudden emotional chaos as a team.

The upcoming feature marks a major team-up between Ferguson and Lee. Ferguson has built a massive international fanbase through her standout roles in blockbuster franchises, while Lee recently earned critical acclaim and award season buzz for her performance in the acclaimed drama *Past Lives*. Their pairing promises a blend of sharp humor and deep emotional resonance. Production duties for *Honeymoon/Funeral* will be handled by Jennifer Carreras and Khan via their production outfit, Fierce Baby, with Bicknell also attached to produce.
