HAIM isn't slowing down their creative grind, even if they are taking a brief breath of fresh air before dropping their next full-length record. Bassist Este Haim recently offered an exciting update on where the California sister trio stands, revealing that new tracks are constantly brewing behind the scenes for their upcoming fifth studio album. According to reports from NME, the band—comprising sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim—is drawing major inspiration from New York City for their next sonic chapter. While the trio is always brainstorming concepts, Este made it clear that they are purposefully taking their time following the release of their fourth LP, *I Quit*, which dropped last summer.
When is the new HAIM album coming out "Haim business is open for business, 24 hours, seven days a week," Este shared when discussing the group's relentless creative routine. She explained that the sisters are continually writing and contemplating how their next sound will evolve. However, stepping away from the studio to collect genuine life experiences remains an essential part of their process before finalizing new material. Este pointed out that living life outside of tour buses and recording booths is critical for writing meaningful songs. A significant part of her present focus includes embracing her personal life after getting married at 39. She admitted that she wants to fully revel in married life for a moment rather than rushing straight back into a chaotic record roll-out.
What is Este Haim working on Outside of her work with her sisters, Este has also been expanding her footprint in Hollywood. She recently teamed up with composer Zachary Dawes—who has previously worked alongside Lana Del Rey and The Last Shadow Puppets—to score *Sunny Dancer*, a new movie starring *The Last of Us* actress Bella Ramsey. With their creative juices flowing across both film scoring and band projects, fans can rest assured that HAIM's fifth album is in active development. The trio is taking the necessary space to let their New York-influenced era take shape on its own schedule.
